Model Vintage Sailboat, Pond Boat c.a. 1960’s Restored, Made in German

Only approximately 100, all wood Gunthers were made during the period 1960's to 1965.
This pond boat is extremely rare and is one of the most sought after boats of it's time.

This is a very nice, made in Germany ( Gunther), all wood model pond boat that was handmade around the 1960’s era and in excellent condition. We decided to leave as much originality in the restoration process, so we went with the original paint surface but did refinish the decking and added new rigging and deck ornamentation as it looked originally. This sought after antique will increase in value in future years.

We looked back to the original design and did authenticate the brass fittings and railings located throughout the decking. The sails are original, which we cleaned and restored as we also did with the rigging. There are some small markings on the main jib that actually adds to the overall uniqueness of this boat, giving it an antique look: very distinguished.

This boat probably sailed some of the various ponds and lakes throughout Europe as was the case in the USA during that 1950’s era. It somehow made it’s way to Tennessee, as indicated by some markings on the deck.

The size of the boat is 24”L X 5”W X 41”H ( in the stand). The stand is handmade of wood and is refinished with a high quality cushioned bottom.

The blue and white hull and keel were most popular at that time but Gunther also made their pond yachts in black, green and white. The size 24” in length, was the common size.

As with all of our pond boats and sailboats, we do partially disassemble the main mast and some rigging for safe shipping. We will include instructions and pictures to assist you in this minor assembly.

What a great gift for that man or women that loves the nautical theme; the ocean and is difficult to buy for. A great conversation piece in the home, overlooking the lake, ocean or pond or anywhere this theme is appreciated.
